Vision
We envision classrooms where conversation drives learning and language is the foundation of literacy.
Language develops through interaction. When students speak, explain, and engage, they build the skills needed to read, write, and think critically. Our vision is to bridge language and literacy through responsive approaches that connect instruction with assessment.
A Central Part of How Children Learn
We envision classrooms where oral language is not treated as invisible or incidental, but as a central part of how children learn, participate, and build literacy. In this vision, instruction is active, students are engaged in meaningful language use, and teachers have better ways to recognize growth as it happens.
Strengthening, Not Replacing, Strong Teaching
We also believe innovation should strengthen, not replace, strong teaching. The most promising learning environments are high-tech, high touch where technology serves as an instructional anchor to enable the teacher to extend and reinforce learning through real-time human interaction.
Making More Possible
Our vision is to help make that kind of learning more possible for multilingual learners in Transitional Kindergarten through Grade 2.
